Marc Jacobs, who served as the house's artistic director from 1997 to 2014, paid a visit to Kusama's studio in Japan for the first time in 2006 after years of appreciating her work. As per Jacobs, she thrived in sharing her vision of the world with the French label. Yayoi Kusama brought forth \u201cobsession and seriality\u201d as the get-go for the collaboration. Finally, the Dots Infinity Collection saw the light! Louis Vuitton devotees may recall the signature motif on a variety of LV bag styles, including the Keepall, Neverfull, Papillion, and LV Speedy. The team-up\u2019s collection was so distinguished by its state-of-the-art design that it became the heartthrob of masses and A-listers.<\/p>\n

This unconventional Kusama-Polka-Dot spin on the pieces went through an artisanal process; Louis Vuitton's craftspeople created a special method to make some of the 3D paint daubs look \"wet,\" as if they had just been painted by Kusama's hand, which uplifted their appeal. Then Kusama's faux-wet paint daubs appearing on both men's and women's clothing, bags, shoes, jewellery, eyewear, and accessories grew as eye-popping hits. The masterpieces gained such traction and ever-growing fans that they whet the appetite for future teamwork. What\u2019s New In Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton 2023?<\/h3>\n

Now, ten years later, the paragon of luxury is joining forces with Kusama once more. It\u2019s a true first taste of a transversal partnership that will fan out in all Maison categories in January 2023. In particular, the collection saw the light on January 1 in China and Japan before making its way to Louis Vuitton locations globally on January 6.<\/p>\n

What's in the drops? More like what\u2019s not? With at least 100 items already revealed, the collection is striking big time, comprising up to 400 individual pieces. There\u2019s the LV Duffle bag that is adorned with canvas and monochromatic paint splatters, the Louis Vuitton Square Bag is decorated with full-color paint and canvas bearing the monogram, and a tote bag made of pure white leather features a tonal rendition of Kusama's favorite flowers.<\/p>\n
