Where to find it on the item
A rectangular fabric tag stitched inside the bag — usually into the seam of an interior pocket — reading “Made in China” (or another origin) with the style number and the MM-YY date on the lines beneath. Wallets and small leather goods carry the same tag on a shorter tab. The date on a genuine tag is crisply printed and sits in the same layout as the style number; a tag with a style number and no date, or a date that reads as an impossible month, is the first thing to question.
