Versace Serial Number Checker
Versace is one of the few luxury houses with a real serial check of its own. Since the 2010s its labels carry a Certilogo code — the letters CLG followed by twelve digits in groups of three — which the brand verifies online at versace.certilogo.com, and recent pieces add an NFC chip and QR code on the product label that open the same verification. A code that Certilogo confirms was issued to a Versace product, and the result names which one.
What no Versace code does is date the piece. The style or article code on the interior label (a letter-and-digit string such as DBFH006-DVIT2T-KVO41) identifies the model and colourway, not the year; the two small production stickers inside — made in Italy, and the country of sale — say where, not when. This checker recognises both formats, points the Certilogo code at Versace's verification, and stops there rather than inventing a year.

Type the Certilogo code with or without the CLG letters, or the style code from the interior label. The checker tells you which one you have and what it can give: the Certilogo code goes to Versace's verification; the style code is a lookup that should resolve to the exact product you are holding.
| Marking | What it gives |
|---|---|
| CLG 000 000 000 000 (12 digits) | Certilogo authentication code — verify at versace.certilogo.com or by the label's QR / NFC |
| DBFH006-DVIT2T-KVO41 (letters + digits, hyphenated) | style / article code — model and colourway, shared by every piece of that style |
| “Made in Italy” sticker + country-of-sale sticker | origin and market — no date |
| No Certilogo code at all | normal on pre-2010s pieces and some accessories — judge by construction |
Where to find it on the item
Bags: a fabric label stitched inside the main compartment or an interior pocket carries the Certilogo code and, on recent pieces, the NFC/QR product label; the style code sits on a second label nearby. Clothing: the Certilogo label is sewn into a side seam below the care label. Shoes and belts: inside the tongue or on the reverse of the belt near the buckle. Sunglasses: the model code is printed inside a temple arm, with no Certilogo.
What each Versace marking can and cannot tell you
| Marking | Gives / doesn't give |
|---|---|
| Certilogo code | authenticity verdict from Versace's system, and the product it was issued to — not a date |
| NFC chip / QR on the product label | same verification, tap or scan — recent pieces only |
| Style / article code | model and colourway lookup — not unique to your piece |
| Production stickers | made in Italy + country of sale — where, not when |
Worked examples
Reading CLG 123 456 789 012
A Certilogo code in the printed grouping. The checker recognises the format; the verdict comes from versace.certilogo.com, which also names the product the code belongs to — a code issued to a belt on a bag's label was moved.
Reading DBFH006-DVIT2T-KVO41
A style code: the model, material and colourway. Search it — a genuine one resolves to the exact style you are holding. It carries no year.
Reading vintage Gianni Versace, no code
Pre-Certilogo production carries no code at all, which is period-correct. Those pieces are judged on the Medusa hardware, the label typography and construction — the era of the label style, not a number, places them.
Versace serial number questions
How do I check a Versace serial number?
Find the Certilogo label (CLG + 12 digits) and verify it at versace.certilogo.com, or tap the NFC chip / scan the QR on a recent product label. That is Versace's own check. This page reads the format and tells you which marking you have.
Does the code tell me the year?
No. Neither the Certilogo code nor the style code encodes a production date, and Versace publishes no serial-to-year reading. The collection and the label style place a piece in time; a tool returning a year from a Versace code is inventing it.
My Versace has no Certilogo code — is it fake?
Not on that alone. Certilogo arrived in the 2010s; earlier pieces, and some accessories and eyewear, never carried it. Absence on a piece sold as current is a warning; absence on a vintage Gianni Versace piece is period-correct.
Certilogo says the code is authentic — am I done?
Check that the product Certilogo names matches what you hold — counterfeiters copy genuine codes onto other items, and the code has a scan history. Then the piece itself: Medusa hardware weight and finish, stitching, lining and label typography.
What is the style code for?
Identification. It names the model, material and colourway, and thousands of genuine pieces share it. Searching it should return the exact item you are holding; a mismatch in product or category means the label was copied from something else.
Does age move a Versace's value?
Through the era: 1990s Gianni-era pieces with the original Medusa hardware carry collector demand, and current-season leather goods hold retail relevance. Condition and model decide — the live pieces below show current UAE asking prices.
